2008 Pancake Breakfast
For more than 35 years the Kiwanis
Club of Richmond has been serving pancakes to smiling faces.
There is nothing better than a family having
pancakes together and knowing that the money from their purchase
of tickets are used to provide support for a wide variety of children's
projects in the community. Included in those children related
services supported over the past five years by the Kiwanis Club
of Richmond are: 4-H Youth and Camp Scholarships, All "A"
Classic Basketball Tournament, Annual sponsorship for one student
to participate in the Key Leader Program, Archery Program for
Marshall Elementary School, Be A Children's Champion, Boy Scouts
of America - Blue Grass Council 2008 Campaign, Bring Up Grades
Program at Clark Moore Middle School, Car Seat Project - Distribute
about six car seats to new parents each month, Children's Shop
with a State Trooper, Christmas Bike Project, Court Appointed
Special Advocates - CASA, Crusade for Children, Dolly Parton's
Imagination Library, EKU Educational Talent Search Program, Girls
Fast Pitch Softball Team, Glen Marshall School Archery Program,
Halloween Hoe-Down, Kentucky State Special Olympics, Kid Konnections
Klub, Inc. - Supported kids roller skating events, Kiwanis Football
Field, Madison Central High School Band Boosters - Purchased new
band uniforms, Madison Central High School Student Scholarship,
Madison Central High School Project Graduation, Model High School
Student Scholarship, Model High School Key Club, Model School
Builder's Club, Model High School Key Club "George Brown"
Scholarship, Model Lab Student History Trip, Project Graduation
- Model High School, Project Graduation - Madison Central High
School, Richmond Little League - Kiwanis Baseball Team, Richmond
Youth Football and Cheerleading, Richmond Children's Theater,
Richmond Headstart Program, Safety City House, Salvation Army
Angel Trees, Salvation Army Christmas Food Basket, Special Olympics,
St. Anne House for Mentally Challenged Women, Telford YMCA Kiwanis
Youth Basketball Team, and Trooper Island, Inc.,
Ben McPherson,
chairman of the annual Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, received a greetng
from the Home Meals Deliverty Crew, which the Kiwanis Club assists
with, when they arrived to cook their pancakes.

Club members served as folunteers at the 2008 Kiwanis Pancake
Breakfast. Included in the group were: Zach Ball, Sarah Bucknam,
Jessica Burba, Leila Cahill, Amy Dong, Caroline Engle, Briana
Ford, Aubrey Gillespie, Nathan Rife, Christan Riley, Bianca Robles,
Jarryd Sandwith, Marisa Stipes, Andrea Stipes, Christina Ward,
and Caitlyn Westin,

Piddle Johnson

Valentine pancake was made for the owner.
Among the Delta Zeta volunteers wo
participated in the 2008 Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast were: Laura
Amens, Laura Apel, Jessica Baumgardner, Devon Burchet, Courtney
Hey, Lindsay Hartman, Marie Patterson. Ashlee Smathers, and
Sara Stafford.
Andrea and
Marisa Stipes, Model School Key Club members, serve pancakes
and drinks to customers.
