The Halloween Hoe-Down was a family friendly event designed for children to have a safe place to Trick or Treat in Richmond. Back in the 1940's, a Halloween festival was held and attracted numerous community members to downtown Richmond. In 2006, the Richmond Parks & Recreation Department restructured their Boo Bash to be incorporated downtown with other outdoor festivities. The Halloween Hoe-Down continues to be a great success and a wonderful event for the whole community.

Activities include, but are not limited to: Trick or Treat with Community Booths, Kids Activities, Stage Shows, Craft Vendors, Hayrides, a Haunted House, Contests, and Food Vendors. Some of the special events included a Pumpkin Carving Contest , a Pie Bake Off Contest , a Dog Costume Contest, and a Scare Crow Contest. The event was sponsored by the Richmond Parks and Recreation.
