Rock and Fossil Identification
Saturday, April 21, 12PM, Madison County Public Library ­ Richmond
Find relics of the past in your own backyard! Eastern Kentucky University Geography and Geology Professor Jack Moody will lead participants through a rural area of Madison County and demonstrate methods of rock and fossil identification in this hands-on program. Meet at the Madison County Public Library's Richmond location at 12PM, then travel to the site, which is off of Red House Road in northern Madison County.

A Historic Walk in Madison County: Bluegrass Army Depot
Sunday, April 22, 3PM, Bluegrass Army Depot
Celebrate Earth Day with an outdoor walk through a Madison County historic landmark! Phillip Seyfrit of the Battlefield of Richmond Association will lead the tour, which covers a portion of the original ­ and until recently inaccessible ­ Civil War battlefield site. Insect Identification
Wednesday, April 25, 6PM, Madison County Public Library ­ Richmond
Always wanted to learn more about bugs and other creepies crawling in your own backyard? Come join Amanda Sears, horticulture agent for Madison County, while she teaches the differences in the insect orders and how to use a key for identification. She will also review helpful identification books and websites to use. Please register in advance by contacting the library hosting the session you wish to attend.
