Committees of the EKU Circle K Club

EKU Circle K Board of Officers - This board will consist of the elected officers provided for in the preceding article, the faculty advisor, and the Kiwanis advisor. The faculty advisor and the Kiwanis advisor shall be nonvoting, ex-officio members of the Board of Officers. The board will set agendas for meetingsm handle emergency matters between meetings. Committee chairs and the members of those committees will be approved by the Board of Officers.

EKU Circle K Board of Officers

The EKU Circle K Board of Officers are (l. to r.) Membership Development and Education Committee: This committee shall devise effective methods of recruiting and educating members to provide the necessary manpower for an effective program of service. The committee shall consider all proposals for membership and shall submit its recommendations to the Board of Officers. The committe shall host the Circle K booth at all recruiting functions.

Kiwanis-Family Relations Committee: This committee will work with other committees in preparing inter-club activities with Kiwanis, Key Club, Builders Club and Kiwanis Kids and shall see that the membership of this Circle K club and its sponsoring Kiwanis club are cognizant of all areas of each organization thereof.

The officers of the EKU Circle K Club (l. to r.) Sarah Freese, the secretary-treasurer; Ashley Burke, Vice President; and Guy Frye, president, gave reports on the progress of the EKU Circle K Club to a joint meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Richmond and the Kiwanis Club of Irvine-Ravenna. The Richmond and Irvine-Ravenne Kiwanis clubs are the joint sponsors of the EKU Circle K Club. This report was part of the on-going Kiwanis-Family Relations process.

Service Initiative Committee: This committee will plan projects and activities promoting and supporting the International Service Initiative Program as well as the major emphasis programs of the Kentucky-Tennessee Circle K District during their administrative year. Each committee member should be responsible for one weekday or weekend project.

Public Relations Committee: This committee will be responsible for informing the campus and local community of the club's activities and goals through the use of articles, photographs, local and campus newspapers, radio, television, and through meetings with the Eastern Kentucky University administration. This committee will also support the membership development committee by developing recruiting posters and brochures.

Social Committee: This committee shall plan activities which will promote fellowship and strengthen friendships within the club and throughout the entire Kiwanis-Family.
