Richmond Kiwanis Conducts 2007 Roadblock for Kids

2007 Roadblock for Kids participants pose for a last photo at the end of the roadblock. Included in this group were Kiwanians, members of the Xi Beta Chapter of Delta Zeta and four Japanese students studying English as a second language at Eastern Kentucky University. Kiwanians held the Roadblock for Kids from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 8 during the annual Great American Pottery Festival sponsored by the City of Richmond, KY. The group this year collected slightly more than $2,000 during the four hour roadblock. The club expresses its appreciation to Madison County residents supporting this fund drive.

Richmond Kiwanis To Hold Pancake Breakfast on Nov 18

The Annual Richmond Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 18 at the Baptist Student Union in Richmond, KY.

Tickets for the all you can eat pancake breakfast of pancakes, sausage, and drink are adult for $5 and children for $3.

The Kiwanis Club of Richmond hosted a Richmond 2005 Volunteer Service Fair in the Richmond Mall on Saturday, February 19 from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The fair will gave Madison County organizations an opportunity to tell about their service and to solicit volunteers to work with their organization.

Richmond Kiwanis Annual Roadblock

Richmond Kiwanians working the second shift of the annual roadblock and remaining for a group photos were: P. Jared Noble, George Ridings, Jr., Roy Switzer, Tracy Burdett, William Leach, Dr. Glen Kleine, Beth Thompson, Piddle Johnson, David Harkleroad, and Tammy Harkleroad. Other Kiwanians working the roadblock were David Benge, Danny Damrel, Elbert Hudson, Dwight McMullin, Patrick McMahon, and Dr. Morris Taylor. David Harkleroad, the chairman of the roadblock, announced that the proceeds from the four-hour roadblock were $2,220. The proceeds from the 2003 roadblock was $2,133. This roadblock was held on the same weekend as that of the first Richmond, KY Pottery Festival.
